Progress, progress

Well, I just rolled past 107,000 words. It's still going. In many ways, I'm thrilled! I mean, I'm actually getting this story out of my head and onto the printed page, so to speak. Meeting these characters, watching their adventures, this is all so much fun that I can barely stand it.

That being said, I wish I were finished! The end is in sight, yes, but it feels like it's taking FOREVER. I know that I'll get there, and you can't rush things like this, but DANG.

There's an awful lot that goes into a book that most folks don't think about. Cover art, for example. That stuff has to get nailed down at some point. And then there's publicity. Gotta get the word out about the thing or else no one will end up reading it. Of course, there's also the whole 'creating the story and writing it reasonably well' part. Fun and exciting, and yes, not the easiest thing in the world to do. All of these things make this a really huge project that can feel overwhelming at times.

But hey...I love it.

Publishing my story is truly, deeply fulfilling to me and downright fun, so I'm going to keep hacking away at it and see what happens. I hope, dear readers, that you enjoy the results. Gart's Road is nearly there...aaaaaaalmost done. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your support.
